Rolla or new car ?

I'm having a dilemma atm, i can't decide whether to work on my rolla or just save that money and buy a new car in about a year.

The things i'd do to the corolla are-

-new gloss black paint job *$$ idk price*

-16' rims (hopefully black w/ silver lip)*$400 for rims and probably $350 for tires

-new headlights $200 (angel eyes)

-all black grille $40

- rear window and rear windshield tints $ idk price

-and a whole new set of speakers ( 2 or 4 kickers and a sub + amplifier) << anyone have an estimate on how much that would cost ?

So either i can do that for probably around $2,000-$2,500

or i can save up to around $8000 and buy a 02 celica/ 00 prelude

any suggestions lol ?

well it depends how many miles are on your 'rolla? If it's under 150k miles, i'd do those things and keep it. Cheap paint job is about $500+, tint is usually $200 all around. The way I see it is, if you know for a fact you can afford a new car cash, then go for it. If you know you'll have monthly payments, keep the 'rolla until it dies and this way you'd be saving $ towards that new car anyways

thanks for the advice, the cars in great shape except for alot of vibration (might be the motor mounts) but im not sure. anyway the car only has 88k on it

Paint depends on how much body work is needed, what kind of prep you're doing yourself and if you want a quick spray (Maaco) or something quality (thousand plus). Changing colors, the quality of paint, and if you're going to have them prime it affect your final price. Speakers? You could probably get a set of nice 6.5" in the rear for around $160-180, and front speakers 3.5" speakers for $100-120. Head unit will run you $100 for a basic JVC to $200+ for a nicer unit. A sub will require an amp which is a whole different ball game.

I was planning on getting a maaco job for around $500 or so, and yes the color would change, it's currently a forest green color. I already have a head unit, but how much would a good sub + amp cost ?
