2006 scion XA with auto transmission, we've tried overdrive on and off, in reg D, in both/all cases, getting a burning smell, similar to burning clutch in manual transmission, going up steep/prolonged hills. i.e. the hill we live on top of, in Vermont. any ideas? thanks, blake e

How many miles and have you ever had a transmission service done?
If you drive up and down a lot of hills, you might need to service your transmission a little more often.
