Stiff ride after lift

I need some help with figuring out why my ride is so stiff after doing a ToyTech 3/2 lift on my 05 sport. I only replaced the coils, not the shocks. Did not remove the rear shocks at all. After the lift, both the front and rear tires thump down hard going over those plastic yellow speed bumps in parking lots. There is no bounce or spring to the coils. Normal road performance is okay. According to Toytech, I must have damaged the shocks so it's my fault. Again, I didn't touch the rear shocks so I'm not buying that excuse. Any thoughts to why? Thanks ahead of time!

Your shocks are to short. When you lift a truck, your shocks are extended more. So when going over a bump and the

Thanks!! Appreciate the input. It does seem logical and I will look around for some shocks.

I surprised that Toytech did not mention the fact that new longer shocks would be required?

Not only did ToyTech not inform me of the shock issue, they tried to blame me for damaging the shocks. That shows their ethics. They got none. I'll never do business w/ them again and will do my best to sway others not to purchase from them.

What brand shocks do you suggest to replace my stock shocks that will be long enough for my 3/2 lift? Again, I only installed the coils, did not purchase the shocks so still got the originals.

Thank you!

Smmy,

KYB has always been my choice, but its just like tires there are many brands to choose from and most are good but you still have to go with your pocket book. Just do a little home work and you will find the ones that will fit your needs.

I have always liked Bilstein shocks. I use the 5100 series on my lifted 93 4Runner. I also ran them on my FJ40.

Thanks for the recommendation!

I'm looking at a few possibilities and want to replace them asap. The jolt from the stiff ride is starting to create noise throughout.

According to the sales person at Bilstein, they will not recommend any of their shocks for any 4runner lift that had Xreas.

Is there anyone out there that lifted a 4R w/ Xreas shocks and and replaced them????

Thanks

I just noticed this post. I have a Truxxx 3" front / 1.25" rear lift, and replaced my x-reas with 5100 Bilstein, front and rear, and couldn't be happier with the ride.
