Leaking rear end

HI ,some what new to forum but not to toyota,I just bought a 2000 tundra the other day with 180k miles and found out it has a bad frame. To make a long story short contacted the dealer and they will replace the frame, the question is this the rear end is so rusty it is eating little holes in the cast part of the rear end. Does anybody know how to fix that ,the dealer does not think toyota will cover that? I do not want to buy a different rear end if I can help it ,Thanks for your help..

yotatoter, If Toyota won't pay for another rear,, maybe if you supply a used rear end they won't charge you any labor to change out while Tundra is apart. which dealer is going to change frame? Darrin

Try this company, years ago I was surprised how cheap some parts were,

UPS might even drop it off @ the dealer or save you some $ by picking it up yourself @ the UPS hub there in Newark then you take it to the dealer.

Clean it and put a good layer of rustproofing/converting spray on it, and paint it.

I haven't seen or heard of a rusty rear-end being replaced. But, with the frame replacing, they are replacing brake/fuel hoses and even bad rusted out steering racks.

Other maintenance items can be upgraded. So, since labor is free, buy some shocks, brake rotors, pads, shoes, drums, fuel filter, .... and anything that you might want to upgrade or simply replace during the frame replacement.

Have a pic of the damage?
